The open-source reference implementation of value stream methodology applied to emissions compliance. Implements EU Implementing Regulation 2023/1773, Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/2551, and COM(2025) 783.
About vsmcodex
The vsmcodex is a methodology engine that calculates EU CBAM-compliant emissions reports against the Commission's regulatory framework. It is built as a citation-grade open-source library that auditors, regulators, exporters, and academic researchers can read, verify, fork, and cite.
The compound mark stands for Value Stream Methodology Codex — an extension of Sustainable Value Stream Mapping (Faulkner & Badurdeen, 2014) applied to embedded-carbon analysis on production lines. The Codex is the regulatory-compliance descendant of that academic lineage.
